In this blog, I’m sharing four ways to practice alignment in your daily life. These practices often require courage to release the mind's ideas of what we “should” be doing and, instead, trust ourselves to act from a deeper, more intuitive place. When we do, life can unfold with so much more joy, ease, and clarity.
If heavy emotions arise, pause and give yourself the space to fully feel them. This act of stopping to connect with and process our emotions allows us to clear the way for aligned action. Often, the mind may rush to avoid discomfort, but when we stop and feel, we let those emotions pass, creating room for alignment, inner peace and clarity.
Instead of pushing or forcing, wait for the “green light” from your intuition. Aligned action often feels like an “open door” or a natural, easeful step forward.
To understand this, imagine life as a shaken snow globe. Our minds might feel compelled to chase the swirling snowflakes before they’ve settled, but this only adds stress and confusion. Instead, consider each falling snowflake as a present-moment experience and ask yourself: What snowflake is falling now? This brings us back to the present, guiding us toward what life is asking of us in this moment, rather than anxiously anticipating the next.
Premature action is like trying to push a baby out at four months—it’s simply not time. When we act in alignment, energy and clarity arrive with the right timing, and everything flows more effortlessly. If we feel unclear or confused, it’s often a sign to pause, release any pressure, and wait for clarity.
For example, my mind has been telling me to do my laundry for days. But I haven't felt the clear green light. I would have been forcing it if I did, so I didnt. I put it by the stairs as a mental reminder to do it but it was mentally draining every time I looked at it.
So put it back in my closet until it’s the natural, flowing thing to do and I don’t need to decide ahead of time when that is or push myself to do it prematurely. I can leave it alone until it’s the most clear, natural, flowing thing to do. Until then, there’s nothing to do.
We can also practice this with shopping and possessions. We can wait for the green light to purchase something or in other words, wait until it feels like 10/10. Often, the mind pushes for premature decisions to check things off a list. But by waiting for alignment, we usually find something better than the mind would have forced.
Can we have the courage to let go the moment something no longer feels uplifting and instead feels draining, even if it’s incomplete? Practicing alignment means being nimble, like a sailor adjusting to changing winds. If an activity begins to feel draining, we can pause, step back, and align ourselves with what genuinely feels right.
Letting go isn’t about abandoning responsibilities—it’s about giving ourselves permission to adjust course and prioritize our well-being.
For me, putting alignment first means clearing any resistance before taking action. It means following what feels intuitively aligned and joyful over what we “should” do. When we choose alignment, everything else takes care of itself, often with greater ease, joy, and even efficiency.
You can ask yourself, given what is, what does alignment look like now? If nothing feels aligned, there’s energy to be felt/released. That is always the most important thing to do now if it’s coming up in the now.
In practicing these steps, we shift from a place of control and force to one of flow, trust, and joy. Alignment opens us up to experience life in ways we might never plan or expect—often with greater ease and abundance than we could imagine.
Remember, alignment isn’t about perfection; it’s about honoring the flow within you and allowing life to guide you, one aligned step at a time.
